Cooling tower reline recently completed by Echo Square Services in Leeds.
Our operatives recently carried out the full internal refurbishment and relining of two mild steel cooling towers located on the roof of a large factory.
The existing internal coating of both cooling towers had began to fail in various areas causing the mild steel surfaces to corrode.
This subsequently resulted in both cooling towers being deemed non-compliant with ACoP L8 guidelines following the completion of recent Legionella risk assessment.
Prior to commencing works our clients water treatment specialist completed the pre disinfection of both cooling towers to ensure it was safe for our engineers to work within the towers confined spaces.
Our operatives initially began the refurbishment by extensively preparing all internal surfaces which included the full removal of the existing failed coating and all surface contaminants in both cooling towers.
The next step involved reinforcing all critical areas such as the joints between the towers panels and carrying out any required surface repairs.
Once all preparation was complete, we were then in a position to apply the first full coating of WRAS approved polyurethane to all internal surfaces.
This was left to cure prior to then apply the final top coat of blue polyurethane to all surfaces.
With the cooling tower reline now complete we were in a position to allow our clients water treatment specialist to complete a full post disinfection of both towers and place the system back online.
