Echo Square Services recently completed the full refurbishment and tank reline of a concrete rain water tank in Kensington, central London.
The existing concrete water tank was partially full of concrete and debris which required removal before any refurbishment works could go ahead.
The pipe work leading into the tank was also partially blocked with concrete and building materials due to the tank being redundant for a long period of time.
CCTV pipe survey & drainage jetting
We initially carried out a CCTV camera survey of all pipe work lines to ascertain what condition the pipe work was in.
This was critical to ensuring we could be confident that the material blocking the pipe work could be safely removed without damaging the pipe work itself.
Following the completion of the CCTV survey we made the decision to high pressure water jet all pipe work leading into the water tank to clear all concrete and debris.
The water tank itself was then also cleared of all debris and contaminants.
Concrete Water tank reline
Now that all pipe work was successfully unblocked and the tank was clean we were then in a position to refurbish the water tank itself.
Our operatives initially carried out all concrete repair works required.
All internal surfaces were then extensively prepared with mechanical hand tools.
Once the preparation process was complete we were in a position to apply an epoxy moisture sealer to all internal surfaces.
The moisture sealer was allowed time to cure prior to applying three coats of chemical resistant coating.
Our client requested that a chemical resistant coating system was utilised as it was highly likely that the tank would be repurposed at a later stage.
With the refurbishment now complete the system was in position to be placed back online.
