Sprinkler tank lining replacement recently completed in Gatwick.
We were recently asked by a nationwide building services provider to help provide a solution for the repair and tank relining of two concrete sprinkler tanks.
Both sprinkler tanks had been in use for over ten years without any protective coating or water tank lining in place subsequently allowing for water to damage the concrete structures.
Water Tank Cleaning
Our operatives initially isolated the inlet and outlet valves of the first concrete tank and left it to drain.
Once drained, we carried out a water tank clean, ensuring all surface contaminants such as sediment and debris were removed.
Water Tank Repair
Now that the sprinkler tank was clean and cleared of all contaminants and debris we were then in a position to refurbish or repair all auxiliary items.
This included replacing all gaskets and galvanised steel bolts as well as reinforcing critical areas such as securely fitting the suction vortex in place.
The water tanks existing inlet float valve was also replaced as it was faulty and allowing a small amount of water to pass by into the tank despite being isolated.
The suction vortex and overflow pipe work along with any other exposed fittings were also coating with a corrosion resistant coating system.
Water Tank Refurbishment
With the sprinkler tank now refurbished our operatives were now able to fit the geotextile protective lining to all internal surfaces of the sprinkler tank.
Once this was fitted in place the EDPM sprinkler tank lining was securely fitted over the top.
With the sprinkler tank relining now complete our operatives refilled the tank and repeated the refurbishment process with the second sprinkler tank
