Air handling unit reline recently completed in Nuneaton.
Despite our client having already refurbished the air handling units components internally.
The existing air handling unit was still suffering from advanced corrosion issues.
Our client required the external surfaces of the AHU to be treated with a UV stabilised protective coating to protect against adverse weather conditions and the occurrence of further corrosion.
What is an air handling unit? (AHU)
An air handling unit (AHU) serves as a fundamental component of HVAC systems, playing a vital role in maintaining optimal indoor air quality and comfort levels within buildings.
Designed to regulate and circulate air, AHUs are responsible for conditioning the air through processes such as heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, and filtering.
By efficiently distributing conditioned air through a network of ducts, these units ensure a healthy and pleasant environment for occupants. Whether in residential, commercial, or industrial settings, the versatility and functionality of air handling units make them indispensable for creating an ideal indoor atmosphere.
Our AHU external coating solution
The external surfaces of the air handling unit were initially extensively prepared by our operatives.
Which included the abrasion of all surfaces and completing minor repairs where required.
A surface primer coating was then applied to all external surfaces of the AHU and given the optimum time to cure.
The final stage of the relining process involved the application of an ultraviolet stabilised epoxy coating being applied to all external surfaces of the AHU.
Upon completion of our works a full photographic report was submitted to our client.
