We were recently contacted by a distressed customer in regards to a process vessel which was heavily leaking in Wales resulting in the client being left with no choice but to take the vessel offline which unfortunately put the company in a position where they were forced to temporarily close their business resulting in an immediate loss of revenue.
It was therefore of paramount importance that the process vessel was repaired as soon as possible.
The GRP process vessel had very suddenly developed a severe crack due to structural movement which had deemed the unit completely unusable until it could be repaired.
We were able to attend site within 48 hours to carry out a full water tank repair of the process vessel which involved the initial repairing of the crack, followed by applying a liquid applied membrane to fully encapsulate the affected area.
Following on from successfully carrying out the water tank repair our operatives were able to place the vessel back online ensuring our client could resume their day to day business.
We recommended that our client should consider carrying out a full water tank reline during their next full site shut down to ensure we call fully internally repair and reline the entire vessel which would subsequently increase the water tanks structural integrity and allow us to guarantee our works for a minimum period of 10 years upon completion.
