Resin Injection & CombiFlex In Basingstoke

Echo Square recently attended a site in Basingstoke to perform a Resin Injection & CombiFlex job. The site had water ingress issues where moisture was entering the building.

Water ingress can be one of the most persistent and frustrating issues to deal with on any site. Left untreated, it not only causes structural deterioration but can also create safety risks and ongoing maintenance headaches.

Identifying the Problem

Upon inspection, it was clear that water was entering through defective concrete at the floor-to-wall junction. This kind of issue is often caused by cracks or weaknesses within the structure, which allow groundwater or surface water to seep through. Over time, even a small ingress point can cause considerable damage, so it was essential to find a long-term and reliable solution.

The client in Basingstoke required a remedial approach that was both minimally invasive and highly effective at sealing the structure. After assessment, our specialists determined that resin injection would be the most suitable method for this project.

The Resin Injection Process

Resin injection is a tried-and-tested method for tackling water ingress in concrete structures. The process involves drilling into the concrete at strategic points to intersect the defective area. Once the drill holes are in place, we inject a specially formulated resin under pressure directly into the affected zone.

This resin reacts with any present water and expands, forming a durable and watertight seal within the structure. The chemical reaction is key to its success – rather than simply filling voids, the resin actively seeks out and bonds with moisture, creating a permanent barrier against further ingress.

In Basingstoke, this approach allowed us to stop the water at its source without the need for extensive excavation or structural disruption. The team carefully monitored the pressure and flow rates during the injection to ensure full coverage and effective sealing throughout the defective area.

Reinforcing the Seal with CombiFlex Bandage

Once the resin injection was complete and the area was fully sealed, Echo Square carried out a CombiFlex bandage application to provide additional reinforcement. A 200mm CombiFlex bandage was installed along the floor-to-wall junction, where the ingress had originally been identified.

This flexible waterproofing system adheres strongly and stretches easily, accommodating structural movement while keeping a reliable watertight seal. Combining resin injection with the CombiFlex bandage created a durable waterproofing solution that solved the issue and ensured long-term protection.

Delivering Reliable Results

The works were completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to the site’s operations. Following the repair, thorough testing confirmed that the area was fully watertight, with no further signs of ingress.

This Basingstoke project showcases Echo Square’s expertise in structural waterproofing and resin injection, delivering reliable, long-lasting results nationwide. From small leaks to major ingress issues, our team delivers tailored, dependable solutions that keep structures dry and protected.
