Echo Square Services Ltd recently completed the tank relining and internal refurbishment of a leaking sectional GRP cold water storage tank which supplies the entire fire sprinkler system of a large hotel in Basingstoke.
We were initially contacted by a water treatment company which operates nationwide to help them with a cost effective, long term solution for the issue.
Due to the ongoing pandemic the hotels occupancy was very low which provided us with the opportunity to take the entire water tank offline for an extended period of time to complete the required water tank repair and relining works.
Following our initial survey it became apparent that both compartments of the cold water storage tank were leaking heavily through the water tanks compromised joints.
Our operatives therefore initially repaired all joints and sealed critical areas of the water tank prior to applying two coats of ES 988 DWPU WRAS approved polyurethane coating to all internal surfaces of the water tank.
Upon completion the water tank was disinfected and refilled prior to placing the fire sprinkler system back online.
