GRP tank reline recently completed at a prestigious London Hotel in Mayfair.
Due to the water tank being critical for providing all cold water down services for the hotel it was impossible to isolated the entire water system for the duration of the works.
However, fortunately the water storage tank was divided into three separate compartments.
This ensured our operatives were able to refurbish and reline one cold water storage tank at a time ensuring no disruption was caused to the hotels storage tank fed water services.
Upon commencing the works we initially faced a minor set back due to the dividing wall between one set of compartments leaking.
To solve this issue two compartments were drained and worked on at the same time during an out of hours night shift which enabled our operatives a short period of time to complete a water tank repair without causing any disruption.
With the water tank repair complete, both compartments were disinfected and just one of the storage tank was refilled, allowing our operatives to begin refurbishing and relining the remaining empty compartment.
Water Tank Reline Process
Our operatives initially extensively repaired all internal joints and extensively prepared all internal surfaces
All critical areas such as the storage tanks joints and seams were then reinforced and stripe coated with polyurethane.
With the water tanks preparation complete, two full coats of DWPU polyurethane were applied to all internal surfaces creating a completely seamless internal lining.
The process above was then repeated for the next two storage tank compartments.
Upon completion of each tank lining, the compartments were cleaned and disinfected prior to being placed back online ensuring our refurbishment process was inline with ACoP L8 guidelines.
