Echo Square Services Ltd recently completed the internal refurbishment and water tank relining of two concrete swimming pool balance water tanks for a well known gym group in central London.
Both water tanks were previously untreated therefore their existing concrete substrates were beginning to deteriorate and required a full water tank refurbishment and reline with a flexible polyurethane.
Prior to commencing works, both water tanks were drained and dehumidifiers were utilised to dry out the concrete substrate and ensure the water tanks moisture content was minimalised.
Each water tank was manually prepared with small hand tools to remove any surface laitance and provide the required surface profile to accept our ES 988 DWPU polyurethane coating.
A 150 micron coat of damp sealer was initially applied to the concrete substrates of both water tanks and all joints were given a ‘stripe coat’ of ES 988 DWPU to build up the coating thickness at all critical seams of both structures.
A full base coat of grey ES 988 DWPU polyurethane was then applied to all internal surfaces of each water tank, once cured our operatives then applied the final top coat of blue ES 988 DWPU polyurethane coating to complete the water tank reline.
Both structures were then in a position to be placed back online and handed back to our client.
