Concrete Process Vessel Relining Works Yorkshire

Echo Square Services were recently contacted by a water treatment site in Yorkshire regarding the full internal refurbishment and relining required for three leaking primary settlement process vessels which were in poor condition.

We proposed the installation of a waterproofing system designed for areas where chemical resistance, and in particular resistance to Hydrogen Sulphide (present in effluent systems) is required.

To that end, we recommended a chemical resistant tank lining system to be applied.  This system is widely employed in sewage disposal & bio-gas plants.

Each process tank was pressure washed to remove any surface contaminants, then allowed to dry out thoroughly.

The internal walls were then manually prepared to remove any loose concrete / laitance.  Several cracks were observed in each of the process tanks, which were repaired with a fast repair mortar, before coating could commence.

All internal surfaces were then relined with 3 coats a crack bridging epoxy coating applied at a nominal thickness of 0.4Kg/m2 per coat.

Now that the full tank reline of all three process vessels was complete and the coating was cured, we were in a position to place the system back online.
